Once upon a time on the MIT campus, there was a glass building where all the homeless theatre companies gathered to hold auditions, rehearse, and carry on.  On any given weeknight, you could find improv troupes, musicians, actors and a handful of ballroom dancers practicing their craft alongside the country’s next generation of physicists, engineers and computer scientists.  Whenever the question, “Where can all of us get together?” was posed, the answer, inevitably, was “Vassar Street.”

By “we” we mean me, Ilene Fischer.  I am a writer, comedian, producer and charming dinner companion.  I formed Vassar Street Entertainment so that I can gather my various creative endeavors under one umbrella. 

More than just set up/punch line, my comedy is accessible, engaging and freakin’ hilarious.  I have many years of improv training and experience, and bring that freshness with me every time I step on stage.  In addition, I teach beginner through advanced improv to all ages.
